INGREDIENTS
- Yam (peeled and cut into chunks)
- Palm oil
- Onions (chopped)
- Fresh pepper (chopped)
- Seasoning cubes or powder (e.g., Maggi, Knorr)
- Stock fish
- Salt (to taste)
- Water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Boil the Yam
- Place the yam chunks in a pot.
- Cover them with water and add a pinch of salt.
- Boil until the yam is tender (about 10-15 minutes). You can check by poking a fork into it.
- Prepare the Palm Oil Sauce
- In a separate pan, heat palm oil until it's clear but not smoking.
- Add chopped onions and fresh pepper and cooked stockfish. Sauté until the onions soften.
- Season the Sauce
- Add your preferred seasoning cubes or powder for flavor.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt to taste.
- Combine and Serve
- Drain the boiled yam and put it in a serving dish.
- Pour the palm oil sauce over the yam or in a separate plate.
